Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare for certification
   • Identify requirement for certification
2. Identify and prepare suitable location to carry out operation
3. Identify, acquire and prepare equipment required for the certification process
4. Certify as Free From Explosives (FFE)
   • Conduct examinations of explosive and non-explosive dangerous goods packaging
5. Deface/remove packaging mandatory markings
6. Seal packaging confirmed as being FFE
7. Apply emergency and contingency procedures
8. Inspect arisings and salvage
   • Inspect arisings and salvage to confirm items have completed functioning
9. Inspect arisings and salvage to confirm items are free from misfire
10. Carry out post certification procedures
    • Package and label arisings and salvage
11. Maintain accurate documentation and records
